It’s been about a week since I started using an Indian skincare cream called “Demelan Cream” to deal with my stubborn strawberry nose (blackheads).
In this series, I’ve been testing whether this cream can actually improve clogged pores over time—honestly and without exaggeration.
So far, I’ve covered its ingredients and my first impressions after opening it.
This time, I want to share how my skin has changed after one week, along with real photos of my nose.
If you prefer reading in Japanese, you can check the full Japanese version here(日本語版はこちら).
Here’s what I’ll be going over:
・ Whether there was any visible change in blackheads
・ How my overall skin condition has shifted
・ And anything that made me pause or question the product
Let’s take a closer look.

This article includes close-up photos of pores and skin texture, so please keep that in mind if you’re sensitive to such images.
Using Demelan Cream for One Week
How I’ve Been Using It
I started using Demelan Cream on March 8, and as of March 15, it’s been about a week.
I’ve been applying it every other day, so in total, I’ve used it around 3–4 times.
As for how much I use each time:
・ For my nose: about the size of a grain of rice
・ For my whole face: roughly another grain-sized amount
The cream itself feels a bit thick, and to be honest, it’s not the easiest to spread on its own.
So when I apply it to my whole face, I gently mix it with my usual moisturizer to make it smoother and easier to work with.
If you’d like to see the full journey and results, I’ve summarized everything here.
A Small Trick to Control How Much Cream Comes Out
When I first opened the tube, it was sealed with a typical silver foil.

But when I tried to peel it off, only the top metallic layer came away, leaving behind a thin film underneath.

No matter how hard I tried, that film just wouldn’t come off. I even considered cutting it open with a knife…
Then I stopped for a second and thought about it.
The opening of the tube is actually quite large, and the cream inside is thick.
If I squeezed too hard, it could easily come out all at once.
That didn’t feel like a good idea.
So instead, I grabbed a toothpick and poked a tiny hole in the remaining film.

Now the cream comes out little by little through that small opening, which makes it much easier to control the amount.
Since this cream contains 10% AHA—which is relatively strong—I actually feel more comfortable using it in small, controlled amounts like this.
Other Pore Care I’m Using Alongside
As I mentioned earlier, I use Demelan Cream every other day.
But that doesn’t mean I leave my skin completely alone on the other days.
On the days I skip it, I use a mild peeling serum across my entire face.
It’s much gentler compared to Demelan Cream, so it feels safe enough for regular use.
On top of that, I’ve also been using a facial device a few times a week.
It’s the YA-MAN Photo Plus, which uses radio frequency (RF) to gently warm the skin and make it feel more plump.
I started using it because I thought it might help reduce the appearance of enlarged pores, and I’ve been using it about 2–3 times a week.
My Nose After One Week (With Photos)
I compared photos of my nose from before I started using the cream and after about one week.

Left: before use / Right: after one week
To be completely honest, I didn’t notice any dramatic change in the blackheads themselves.
If anything, the difference between the before and after photos is very subtle, and depending on the lighting, the before photo might even look slightly better.
Still, I did feel like the redness on the tip of my nose had calmed down a bit, and overall, my skin looked a touch brighter.
That said, differences in lighting and focus between the photos make it difficult to draw a clear conclusion.

After 1 week of use
Blackheads caused by clogged pores don’t usually change dramatically in such a short time, so it still feels a bit too early to judge.
What I Liked After One Week
After using Demelan Cream for about a week, I did notice a few small but positive changes.
The most noticeable one was that my skin seemed slightly brighter overall.
The redness around my nose softened a little, giving my skin a more even tone.
That said, I’m also using other skincare products and a facial device, so I can’t say this is entirely due to Demelan Cream.
As for the blackheads themselves, I haven’t seen a significant change yet.
Those small white plugs that sometimes come out when I touch my nose are still there.
So at this point, it feels less like a “result” and more like a process that’s just beginning.
What Concerned Me (Small White Pimples)
There was one thing that definitely caught my attention.
After I started using the cream, I began noticing small white pimples forming around the sides of my nose.

They were the kind that release a bit of fluid when touched—and there were several of them.
This started happening not long after I began using the cream, which honestly surprised me.
I noticed this happening not long after I started using the cream, which honestly surprised me a little.
I couldn’t help but think, “Wait… what is going on?”
I’m not entirely sure what caused it, but since Demelan Cream contains glycolic acid (a type of AHA), it’s possible that impurities trapped deep inside my pores were brought to the surface temporarily.
Also—this might have been my mistake—but there was one day when I used both Demelan Cream and the peeling serum at the same time.
Looking back, that might have been too much for my skin.
It’s possible that over-exfoliation may have stressed my skin and triggered these breakouts.
Thankfully, there hasn’t been any severe irritation, so I plan to continue using it every other day while carefully watching how my skin reacts.
This experience reminded me that with skincare, trying to do too much at once can easily backfire.
Does Demelan Cream Work After One Week?
So, after one week, does Demelan Cream actually improve strawberry nose?
At this point, I haven’t seen a dramatic improvement in blackheads yet.
However, I do feel that the redness on my nose has slightly reduced, and my skin tone looks a bit brighter overall.
On the other hand, I also experienced small white pimples, so I think it’s important to continue using it carefully while paying attention to how my skin responds.
Since clogged pores don’t usually change much in a short time, one week still feels like a very early stage.
I plan to keep using it and share updates after two weeks and one month as part of this series.
Thank you so much for reading.
